Dr. Dayaram Sonawane joined Department of Instrumentation and Control, College of Engineering Pune as a lecturer in Instrumentation in 1998, later he selected as an assistant professor in 2005. From 2008, he is working as an associate professor at College of Engineering, Pune. He is in-charge of Embedded System Lab at Department of Instrumentation and Control. He obtained a B E degree in Instrumentation and Control form S. G. G. S. College of Engineering and Technology, Nanded in 1997 and Master of Engineering from University of Pune in 2000. He has completed his PhD (Engineering) from University of Pune in 2012 and Post-doctorate from Washington University in St. Louis (USA) and University of Washington Seattle (USA) during Jan. 2014- August 2015.
Dr. Dayaram is also involved in varieous research projects funded by different agencies of Govt. of India. He is author of a book titled “Introduction to Embedded System Design” published by ISTE, New Delhi. He has received an Uniken innovation award for research project titled subcutaneous vein detection system for drug delivery assistance an open source system-on-chip approach. He has been invited to deliver more than fifteen expert lectures on topic embedded system design at various institutes and workshops. He is a faculty in-charge of FPGA-Embedded System Virtual Lab, project funded by MHRD, India.
His research interests include gradient based optimization, Quadratic Programming (QP) solver, Model Predictive Control (MPC), and its embedded implementation and acceleration on embedded computing platforms for for real time control.
